Simone Pentis

My background comprises that of business owner, manager and private practice and in-house corporate and commercial lawyer where I have worked with and advised private individuals, council, public and private companies throughout Australia and overseas. I have acted for various start up businesses to well established companies, assisting with their corporate and commercial legal needs and achievement of business goals. While specialising in corporate and commercial law, I have maintained a particular focus on franchising, licensing, trade marks, intellectual property, sponsorship, competition terms and permits, business sales, business purchases and legal recruitment and management.In particular in my franchising roles I have worked with established national and international franchisors and master franchisees’ and been involved in the design and establishment of various businesses and franchise systems, as well as assisted franchise groups to move into various international markets and acquire other international and Australian franchise systems. I have managed the legal departments for national and international franchise networks, including Minor DKL Group (formerly The Coffee Club Group, comprising The Coffee Club, Ribs & Rumps and First Avenue brands) and Bartercard. Over the years I have given and organised conferences, presentations on various legal, franchising and business topics attended by legal, government, business and public groups. I have spoken on business radio programs and presented, lectured and facilitated roundtable discussions for and to Franchise Council of Australia (“FCA”) members and on behalf of the FCA to the public, as well as assisted in organising, holding, being MC and facilitating FCA events within Qld and nationally. I have also been an invited speaker and presenter on Franchising and Business laws in Europe.Since 2007 I have been continually re-elected to the Franchise Council of Australia’s (“FCA”) Qld Chapter Committee.
